Delinquent tenant cooperative comes to the Internet
Apartment owners have been shaing information about problem tenants for years. Payment habits, cleanliness and respect for property are always legitimate concerns for any landlord. Prior to turning over the keys, every property manager needs to know as much as possible about a prospective tenant. The Delinquent Tenant Cooperative was created several years ago as a repository for tenant information and made available to landlords for free. For the first time, rental property owners can now go on the Internet to contribute or access information from the Delinquent Tenant Cooperative.
Available to all qualified rental property owners at no charge, the Delinquent Tenant Cooperative is more than an eviction database. In addition to payment habits, the Delinquent Tenant Cooperative also attempts to display the character of a prospective tenant in terms of lease violations, respect for his neighbors, suspected criminal activity, domestic violence and general living conditions.
The new online format is expected to be available by September, 2000 in the form of a totally secured "extranet". As always, accessibilty is free to all registered and approved clients of CREDITMATCH Tenant Screening or Rent Recovery Service. Now that landlords can contribute to the Delinquent Tenant Cooperative via the Internet, the database is expected to be nationwide within few months.
